Nu Skin Review – Keeping People Young
Nu Skin is a skin care company (they prefer anti-aging company), established in 1984. Through direct sales, Nu Skin offers a complete line of skin care, anti-aging products, cosmetics, and body and hair care. Since women spend billions every year on skin care and attempting to keep time at bay, a cosmetic company could be a great investment for those looking to get involved with direct sales.
Nu Skin boasts giving over $6 million of its sales back to it distributers. It has a generous commission on its products of 42%, and since cosmetics are a consumable product, repeat business relationships can be developed. Since this is a direct sales company, you will be expected to recruit and sponsor new distributers, and will earn residuals off of signing these new sponsors up.
In addition to the Nu Skin line, there is the Pharmanex line of nutritional supplements and the Big World opportunity which is very unclear to what it actually is. If the links supplied are correct, Big World is a technology company and is hosting web space that you sell. This seems very odd for a skin care company to have partnered so far out of its niche. The diversity of the products available to sell is unusual in a direct marketing company.
As far as a business opportunity, Nu skin appears to be very stable. Nu Skin is a publicly traded company, had $1.25 billion in sales so far, and has been in business for 25 years. From the description of the products, they appear to be high quality and different from those commonly found on the market. Since Nu Skin is keeping the initial investment in the company a secret, it maybe a considerable chunk of change to get started, which may be a deterrent to many in today’s economy.
A large advantage that Nu Skin offers is their rewards program. For their top representatives, the company purchases high ticket items like trips and jewelry as rewards for those people. Another advantage would be name recognition; since people in general tend to like spending their money with companies they are familiar. Without more information, listing the drawbacks is mostly a guessing game, but contacting Nu Skin, if this seems like an opportunity for you, is highly recommended.
